Local Community

Shifnal has numerous active groups working on behalf of the community, each one contributing to the social wellbeing, overall development and community infrastructure at the heart of our growing town.

Shifnal Town Council supports the activities of all volunteers working on behalf of the community. This support takes many forms: by promoting the work of community groups here on the Town Council website (contact the Town Clerk for further information on how your details can appear here), through grant funding (see the Grant Funding page), through direct support via the free use of assets, and by being open, as individual members and as a body to giving our time, and where appropriate, expertise, to assist wherever possible and practicable.

A town council can assist with ensuring the longevity of community groups through on-going funding, support, organisation, information exchange and where appropriate, adoption of works undertaken. Shifnal Town Council has been and continues to be involved in every one of these activities and expresses an on-going commitment to ensure the sector thrives within our community.

Below you will find information on just some of the groups active within our town – more will be added over time – the list will evolve and grow. If you would like to be added please contact the Town Clerk.
